Eteknix was present at this year’s EGX 2018, which was the biggest game trade show in the country. Luckily for those who missed it, it has been confirmed that the event will be back again on October 2019. In fact, EGX 2019 will take place at London Excel from October 17th to October 20th. So that leaves plenty of time to plan, and arrange for days off.
For 2019, the event will move from Birmingham NEC where it has been since 2015. It will now go back to London where the event originally ran from 2008 to 2014.
“We are thrilled to be bringing EGX home,” said event director David Lilley in a press release. “Moving back to London means we can grow all elements of the show and add new content and features that we know our fans desire, making this an unmissable outing for gamers and the UK games industry.”
Birmingham-based fans need not be dissappointed by the move. That is because the organisers have promised to support fans with time-limited discounts on tickets, as well as transport solutions to EGX London.
MCM Comic-Con is now also part of the same family as EGX, and the Birmingham Comic-Con (in March and November) will continued to feature gaming items. The most recent MCM hosted the Splatoon 2 UK Championships Grand Final.
In case you missed the event last year, you can check out Eteknix’ coverage via this page. Expect large presence from top leading game developers as well as gaming hardware companies present. Try out new games and the latest gear in person before anyone else.
In addition, EGX Berlin will also return for a second year. It will once again be based at Station Berlin, but this time will be happening between November 1st and 3rd, 2019. As previously announced, EGX Rezzed will be held at London’s Tobacco Dock between April 4th and 6th.
