EIZO is possibly the most respected display company on the market and is known for creating an impressive range of professional monitors with an impeccable colour accuracy. Not only that, their products come with a five-year warranty as standard and have a very impressive dead pixel policy. Recently, EIZO announced a brand new monitor entitled the FlexScan EV2780 which sports a 27-inch LED backlit IPS panel, with a native resolution of 2560×1440. Also, the monitor has 178-degree viewing angles, a brightness rating of 350 cd/m2 and a 1000:1 contrast ratio. Interestingly, this is the company’s first display with an integrated USB 3.1 Type-C port which is useful to connect certain mobile phones and other modern devices.
The housing is almost bezel-less with a frame measuring a mere 1mm wide and offered in either a black or white finish with cable colours to match. On another note, the FlexScan EV2780 has picture-by-picture capability and energy-saving features which come in handy if you’re concerned about running costs. There’s even a built-in sensor called Auto Ecoview which adjusts the screen’s brightness with ambient lighting to reduce power usage and eye fatigue. The “Paper” mode reduces blue light for a more enjoyable viewing experience.
