Eizo Introduce Square Monitor with a 1920 X 1920 Resolution

EIZO Corporation announced the new 26.5-inch square FlexScan EV2730Q monitor with a 1920 × 1920 resolution; a 1:1 aspect ratio and it is the newest addition to EIZO’s FlexScan EcoView Series that combines both ergonomic and environmental features.
The EV2730Q monitor has 78% more pixels than traditional 1920 x 1080 monitor that is very convenient for displaying a large amount of information in long windows. It reduces the need for excess scrolling or just gives you a bigger working area for your graphical or design needs. This monitor would be ideal for bookkeeping, CAD programs and code development; just to name a few.
EIZO used a non-glare IPS panel with a 178°/178° viewing angle, 300cd/m2 brightness, 1000:1 contrast ratio, 5ms response time and a 60Hz refresh rate. The brightness is adjustable all the way down to 1% of the maximum to lower the eyestrain in low-light environments. The preset colour modes are sRGB, Movie, Paper and two modes with user-adjustable settings. The paper mode reduces the blue light, again to reduce eyestrain.
In and output is covered by a Dual-link DVI-D and a DisplayPort connector, a two-port USB hub and 1W stereo speakers. The stand allows for height adjustment, tilt, and swivel. A somewhat cool feature is the EcoView Sense 2 that detects when you leave your work area by both looking for movement and heat. It then automatically puts the monitor into standby mode to conserve electricity.
The EIZO FlexScan EV2730Q will be available from the first quarter of 2015. There wasn’t any word on pricing yet, but we can expect it to cost quite a bit more than a traditional 1080p monitor. It does however come with a 5-year Warranty
