EK, the leading liquid cooling gear manufacturer, has launched a workstation and a 1U rack-compatible high-performance liquid cooling solution for AMD Zen 4-based EPYC server processors. these AMD CPUs come with up to 96 cores and 192 threads and have a TDP of up to 360W rendering these processors perfect for liquid cooling, especially in a dual-socket motherboard environment.
This is a dedicated enterprise-grade water block designed specifically for AMD processors. featuring standard G1/4″ threaded ports on the top of the block making this processor ideal for taller workstations and server racks.
This water block is designed the same as the previous one but is instead suited for smaller systems. Thanks to its 4 ports located on the side rather than the top, this block has a significantly lower vertical footprint which makes it ideal for 1U rack-mounted servers.
Aside from 1U compatibility, the goal in designing the new EK-Pro CPU WB SP5 Rack – Nickel + Acetal water block was to cover the entire IHS of the SP5-based AMD EPYC processors and achieve optimal cooling performance. A dense micro-fin structure fully covers the CPU dies located below the IHS for more efficient cooling
Every EK-Pro CPU WB SP5 Rack water block comes with a precisely machined copper base (or “cold plate”) made from the purest copper available on the market and treated with nickel electroplating. The top is made from durable CNC-machined POM Acetal.
These also have a pre-assembled error-preventing mounting mechanism installed directly onto the SP5 mounting holes. And with the six spring-loaded screws ensuring optimal hold-down pressure, the result is perfect installation, optimal performance every time, and out-of-the-box compatibility with AMD’s server-type Socket SP5 motherboards. This type of mounting solution mitigates the need for removing the motherboard from the case, allowing for a hassle-free installation.
The EK-Pro CPU WB SP5 water blocks are available for order now through the EK Webshop at the following MSRP:
