For those that are quite fond of the crystal design of the GameRock RTX graphics cards, you may see this new special edition Velocity² water block from EK as a strong companion to this card with its geometric design.
The EKWB Velocity² 1700 Special Edition is a new CPU water block designed for Intel’s LGA 1700 socket CPUs featuring a striking assembly of irregular tetrahedrons, transforming the water block into a piece of modern art. The tetrahedrons create a captivating interplay of light and shadow adding a dynamic and sophisticated visual appeal to the waterblocks. They are available in either black or silver finish suitable for varying build themes including those who want a magma appearance with the black model accompanied by red RGB illumination .
This waterblock features a cold-plate precisely machined of the highest-grade 99.99% pure electrolytic copper to ensure unparalleled heat transfer. The top cover has also been CNC-milled from a 30mm thick aluminium sheet and separated from the coolant with a layer of acrylic. The blocks also use the OptiFlow cooling engine which has been specifically designed to optimize performance on Intel LGA 1700 socket processors. This effectively combines specific mounting pressure with tailored cold plate geometry to achieve low hydraulic flow restriction which in turn allows for lower pump speed settings or lower power pumps to be used leading to quieter operation.
For an easy installation the block is also EK-Matrix7 compliant for compatibility with other EK products with smooth tubing runs. The EK-ExactMount System has also been used which uses pre-tensioned springs concealed in the waterblock to provide a seamless aesthetic whilst also ensuring perfect mounting pressure.
The EK-Quantum Velocity² Edge D-RGB – 1700 Black/Silver Special Editions are now available for pre-order through the EK Webshop for an MSRP of €199.90. These Velocity² Special Edition water blocks will start shipping in mid-February 2024. EK also notes that AM5 versions of this block will be available very soon as well.
