EKWB has a host of monoblocks designed for ASUS RoG motherboards including the latest Ryzen based Crosshair VI Hero but now they have finally released one for the ASUS ROG Maximus IX Apex motherboard. The ASUS RoG Maxiums IX Apex is different from most motherboards due to its non-standard PCB having corners that protrude and having two DIMM slots with an extra third. It is intended for extreme overclockers but it also offers plenty of features for regular users who are accustomed to Republic of Gamers lifestyle.
The EKWB EK-FB ASUS M9A monoblock replaces the VRM heatsink with a full-coverage piece made of glass acrylic at the top and nickel plated copper base shaped to cover not just the CPU but cool the VRM MOSFETs as well. The installation is made easier through pre-installed brass screw-in standoffs so it is just a matter of removing the stock heatsink on the Maximus IX Apex and swapping it out with the EKWB monoblock.
The glass acrylic top allows for a see-through view to the inner workings of the EK-Supremacy EVO cooling engine, with coolant flowing through it once powered on. Like all EKWB monoblocks, the EK-FB ASUS M9A is available for 119.95€ with VAT included via the EK Webshop.
