EKWB announced the launch of their newly revised Threadripper monoblocks a few days ago. This new design follows an official apology from the Slovenian-based company during Valentine’s Day. It is for the lower-than-expected performance of their initial EK-Supremacy EVO Threadripper blocks. As a commitment to quality, they have now improved the cooling engine design and are finally releasing more monoblock options to choose from. After Gigabyte, now it is MSI’s turn to receive an RGB monoblock solution. Specificially, it is compatible with the MSI X399 Gaming Pro Carbon AC and MSI X399 SLI Plus.
It is not just the massive CPU that requires considerable cooling, but its motherboard VRM does as well. Which is why the monoblock has full IHS coverage plus proper contact for the MOSFETs at the top. The flow channels are also positioned above these as well as the CPU socket so that it gets adequate cooling. In fact, users can see this for themselves in action since the front of the block is clear. It uses see-through glass acrylic which can be paired with a colored coolant to match the system build theme.
Of course it does. However, unlike Gigabyte with their 3-pin digital LED, the EK-FB MSI X399 Gaming RGB Monoblock has an integrated 4-pin RGB LED strip. This makes it compatible with MSI’s Mystic Light feature offering full lighting customization.
The EK-FB MSI X399 Gaming RGB Monoblock is available for purchase through EK Webshop and Partner Reseller Network for 125.95€ (MSRP) with VAT included.
