EKWB has finally released a full-coverage water-block for AMD’s X399 Threadripper platform. The HEDT platform from AMD uses a considerably large CPU so the monoblock is also equally large. Especially considering it is cooling the VRM as well. This monoblock is specifically for several of ASUS motherboards, including:
Like previous EK monoblocks, this EK-FB ASUS ROG ZE RGB monoblock uses the award-winnign EK-Supremacy EVO cooling engine and provides full coverage. It is fully nickel-plated and the mounting screws are pre-installed so it is ready out of the box.
The use of a monoblock eliminates the need to use an active cooling on the VRM MOSFETs. The water-cooling mechanism is more than enough to cool both the CPU and the MOSFETs, even when overclocking. EK also designs their monoblocks to be perfectly suitable for weaker pumps, able to compensate for the cooling efficiency in the flow design.
The top is made of clear glass acrylic so users can see through with color coolant. There is also a digital RGB LED strip at the top which plugs in via 4-pin header onboard. Using ASUS’ RGB LED system, users can control these individually addressable LEDs.
The EKWB ASUS ROG ZE RGB Monoblock is available for pre-order through EK Webshop and Partner Reseller Network for 119.95€ with VAT. All pre-orders will start shipping 2nd of November, 2017.
