Fans of Elden Ring may soon have a reason to rejoice as rumors circulate about a definitive edition of the game arriving on the highly anticipated Nintendo Switch 2. Currently, Dark Souls is the only FromSoftware title available on Nintendo’s console, but this could soon change in a big way.
According to industry insider Nash Weedle, Elden Ring Definitive Edition, complete with its Shadow of the Erdtree DLC, could be available on the Switch 2, potentially by late 2025.
This speculation is being backed by Necrolipe, who supported Weedle’s claims that Elden Ring Definitive Edition is already in the works for the next-gen Nintendo console. As described, this release would bundle both the original game and its DLC in a single package for the Nintendo Switch 2. Although it may seem unlikely at first, previous reports suggest that the hardware power of the Switch 2 could rival that of the PlayStation 4, on which Elden Ring performs smoothly.
If these rumors hold true, it would mark a major expansion for the Elden Ring audience, making the 2022 Game of the Year winner accessible to a whole new group of gamers. Nintendo and FromSoftware have not yet confirmed or commented on the report, and as usual with industry rumors, they may keep quiet until an official reveal.
