Elon Musks Flamethrower Has Over $3.5m in Preorders

Flamethrower

Earlier this week, rumours began to emerge that following a promise in 2017, Tesla founder, Elon Musk, was building a flamethrower. At the time, no one knew if it was true or not. He did make it clear, however, that if his Boring Company sold 50,000 hats he would release it for sale.

Internet users quickly found out that on his Boring company website, a page had been created for the flamethrower. At the time though, it was protected by a password.

That password has since lifted to release that the flamethrower is, indeed, available to buy.

Preorders Available

A quick trip to the website shows that the flamethrower not only exists but is available to preorder.

For the low-low price of $500, you can terrorise your enemies and wow your friends.

Despite the bizarre nature of the product, Elon Musk on Twitter has already reported that pre-order sales have already topped $3.5m.

Elon Musk on Twitter

From his initial announcement post, Elon Musk revealed that 20,000 flamethrowers were available to purchase. In his most recent post, he has confirmed that 7,000 preorders have already been made.

Some quick arithmetic shows that 7,000 orders at $500 a go show sales already at over $3.5m.

This means that if you want to get your hands on your very own, you might need to act quickly. Only 13,000 remains.

Will you buy one?

With 7,000 sold in less than 48 hours, I think it’s pretty fair to say that they are going to sell out. If you want your own you may, therefore, need to act quickly.

Valentine’s day is coming. Nothing says ‘I love you’ like a flamethrower. As an excuse to get it for yourself, use it to singe a love heart on your lawn.

What do you think? Are you surprised by the amount sold? Thinking of getting one yourself? – Let us know in the comments!
