Elon Musk’s Latest Project? A Boring Company!
Peter Donnell / 8 years ago
When he’s not building spaceships with SpaceX to take us to Mars, or revolutionising the world of electric and self-driving cars with Tesla, or making advances in the world of robotics and more with OpenAI, or building ultra-fast Hyperloop train systems, what does billionaire Elon Musk get up to? Whatever it is, it’s certainly not enjoying being stuck in traffic, as it seems like his latest endeavour could see him starting a boring company!
Traffic is driving me nuts. Am going to build a tunnel boring machine and just start digging…

Not boring as in “OMG I could fall asleep listening to this” but boring as in freaking huge tunnels in the ground. His latest string of tweets were puns about “boring” but he’s also now added to his Twitter bio “Tunnels” alongside “Tesla, SpaceX and OpenAI”. After being stuck in traffic, it seems Elon is eager to build a system of tunnels to create extra routes to alleviate surface traffic. The idea is nothing new, more roads mean more places for cars, which can lead to less congestion for everyone.
Boring, it's what we do

It shall be called "The Boring Company"

When someone gets stuck in traffic and says we need flying cars or hyperloop systems, or in this case more tunnels, we don’t give it much weight. However, Elon Musk has a reputation for putting his money where his mouth is and while he may have been trolling at first, we expect we haven’t heard the latest of his idea to start a boring company.
I am actually going to do this

He has the money, he has the resources, and he has a team of innovative engineers at his disposal, so perhaps we’ll all be taking some serious shortcuts through major cities in the not too distant future.
Heck, even the Elon Musk parody twitter account agrees with him.
