Embrace The Wireless Revolution With Corsair Lapboard

Final Thoughts

Price

The Corsair Lapboard is available from most major retailers for around £55. That’s a pretty fair price given the size of the item you get, and it’s much cheaper than the Lap Dog they released a few years ago too. Of course, you’ll need a set of Corsair Wireless peripherals, the £185 K63, and I guess you can use any wireless mouse, but the Dark Core SE starts at £85.

Overview

I’ll admit, investing in a set of Corsair’s new wireless peripherals and a Lapboard isn’t cheap. However, it’s not exactly an essential setup for all people either, it’s a luxury more than anything. I mean, if you’re already buying the peripherals, then you’re most of the way there. The actually Lapboard its self is pretty affordable to add-on to your existing bundle.

Taking Control

I don’t think many people want to game from their couch, and most are likely to be happy with just a controller. However, not all PC games work in this way, and competitive gamers will undoubtedly want to play with keyboard and mouse due to the accuracy it provides.

Freedom

I loved the Corsair Lap Dog, but the wired nature meant it was pretty cumbersome. With the latest peripherals cutting the latency and connectivity issues that once plagued wireless are now gone. Being able to lift the keyboard and mouse from my desktop, quickly dock them in the Lapboard, and get going, is pretty awesome.

Big Screen PC Gaming

It’s not uncommon for people to have a bigger TV than they do a PC monitor. TV’s also more commonly feature 4K resolutions now, and other cool features such as surround sound that are less likely at the desktop. Being able to move and take full advantage of that is a lot of fun. Perhaps a controller is still your go-to for some games, but with the Corsair Lapboard, you can now embrace wireless gaming on the big screen in style.

Pros

  • Comfortable ergonomics
  • Padded base
  • Lapboard is not too expensive
  • You can use any wireless mouse you wanted
  • Easy install/removal of K63 keyboard
  • Completely wireless
  • Perfect for PC gaming on the couch/laid in bed

Cons

  • None

Neutral
