ENDORFY GEM Plus Wireless Onyx White Ultralight Mouse Review

ENDORFY continues their rise to fame with each product it releases, and they're having a solid winning streak recently, with one fantastic product after the other, from its amazing new PC cases to its coolers, and of course, to their peripherals. I liked the ENDORFY GEM Plus Wireless I reviewed a while back, it ticked all the right boxes for a quality gaming mouse. However, today, I'm taking a look at the new ENDORFY GEM Plus Onyx White Wireless Ultralight gaming mouse, which as its name would suggest, is designed for cable-free fast-and-light gaming performance. ENDORFY GEM Plus Wireless Onyx White It's very well equipped too, with its 74 grams weight, it's certainly light, and it comes with a high-end 26000 DPI optical sensor from the masters at PixArt (PAW3395). It features the latest Kailh GM 8.0 mechanical switches, which are rated at 80 million clicks, and while it is wireless, it also comes bundled with a premium paracord sleeved cable to both charge the mouse and use it in its optional wired performance mode. What's great about their range is that there is now a mouse for just about anyone, with the GEM, GEM Plus, GEM Plus Onyx, GEM Onyx, and GEM Plus Wireless, as well as today's review of the GEM Plus Wireless Onyx. All safely closed in a lightweight (74 g) case on profiled PTFE sliders, so it’s safe to say that our mouse isn’t afraid of challenges." - ENDORFY Packaging & Accessories The box features a clear photo of the mouse, so you can see the colour and overall design, and they've clearly listed that it works in wireless, Bluetooth and USB modes. Down the side, all the key specifications are clearly listed, such as the sensor, DPI, programmable buttons, and much more. The back is just boring legal stuff and box contents broken down into a plethora of languages. The box slides out, where you can see there's a durable inner and outer box, as well as a shaped insert, so the mouse is extremely well protected in the packaging. In the box, you'll find a full-colour booklet, stickers, as well as spare PTFE feet should you ever wear out the originals. A Closer Look This is one gorgeous-looking gaming mouse, and while sure, it looks like a lot of other gaming mice, that's really not a bad thing, and it still makes a strong first impression. The mixture of grey and white is really pleasing to the eye, and the curvy and soft lines of the mouse give it an almost pillow-like visual quality; it literally looks comfortable. The LMB and RMB are huge, and each is mounted as their own unique panel separate from the main body of the mouse, with a flared front, giving you a huge surface area that's well suited to my larger hands. The scroll wheel is massive but heavily recessed into the body so that it doesn't impede your finger movement over the top of the mouse. However, it has a very grippy soft rubber coating and a light action that makes it very easy to turn, and a nicely defined bump when you turn it to make weapon selection more accurate in FPS games. The mouse wheel is clickable too, with a nice and light action to it, and there's an additional button behind that. The mouse is fully programmable, so with the LMB, RMB, wheel, top button, and two side buttons, you have six fully programmable buttons that can be used however you like. The side profile of the mouse is really well-defined, and you can get a stable hold on the mouse with just a light grip thanks to that textured rubber finish. The side buttons are well-defined too, with a responsive feel to them thanks to close-mounted switches that allow for a nice clicking action. I quite like the way the texture fades off at the edges too, they've put some thought into the design, rather than just blindly throwing something simply grippy on there. At the back, there's a large ENDORFY logo, and as you might expect, this will be fully RGB-lit when I power on the mouse. Down the right side, more of that lovely grip coating and matte grey and white aesthetic. Both sides of the mouse as scooped in slightly, allowing for a really comfortable grip, and also making it easy to lift the mouse up with very little grip force. Performance This mouse has all the right parts to be a great gaming mouse, its lightweight design being one of the most prominent. I like a lightly textured gaming surface (it's Cashmere wool, la-de-dah, I know), but with this mouse, it still glides like it's on ice due to its weight and those PTFE feet. Tracking certainly isn't an issue either, as the masterful PixArt PAW3395 sensor has proven a big hit with brands like Razer, Endgame Gear, Corsair and more, so we know it's pretty fantastic. It'll track at up to 16.51 meters per second at 26,000 DPI and while it is tunable in the software, the profile switch on the top cycles through 400/800/1000/1500/2000/3000 as standard, and I never felt the need to push it past 1500. There's no jitter, angle snapping or any other nasties like that; it tracks beautifully in any setting. The mouse is wireless and comes with a USB dongle tucked into the underside. It pairs up pretty much instantly and is plug-and-play ready, which is great. However, it can also be connected via Bluetooth, or via a USB Type-C cable, giving you plenty of flexibility on how you use it. The included cable is very flexible, and lightweight and comes with a very attractive paracord sleeving, which features a matching white and grey design. Of course, being USB Type-C, you can charge it or use it with any other Type-C cable you desire, which is great should the original become damaged or lost. The weight of the mouse is impressive too, given that it has a solid top body, but there is a bit of material shedding on the bottom to trim the weight down, and that features the same triangular pattern we saw on the rubber side grips. Also on the underside, you'll find a snug to store the dongle when not in use, as well as a master power switch that allows you to use the mouse with or without the RGB LEDs turned on. The lighting effects are pretty stunning too, with the mouse wheel featuring an inner ring of light under the rubber grip, as well as a strip of lighting that runs down the middle of the wheel. There's also lighting built into the logo at the back, as well as a C-shaped section of light on the base, providing some ambient underlighting effects. The brightness is strong and the colours are vibrant too, giving you some great customisation options. Overall, this is just a great mouse from the moment you take it out of the box. Their software is robust too, allowing you to adjust the sensor, and button configuration, apply macros, lighting modes and more and save all your settings to the mouse so they're always ready to go when you need them. How Much Does it Cost? This is a feature-packed and premium gaming mouse, with high-end components and high-end performance to match. The downside of all of this is that it has a premium price tag to match, and is currently listed on Amazon for £92.18, which is a lot. However, I think it's fair to say you get what you pay for, and the ENDORFY GEM Plus Wireless Onyx White has the quality to match that of any rival premium-price gaming mouse on the market today. The price is on par with that of the SteelSeries Aerox 9, Logitech G502, XTRFY M4, Logitech GPro X, and ASUS ROG Harpe Ace, all of which feature similarly high-end components and performance, but as I said, the ENDORFY mouse can hold its own against any of them. Overview ENDORFY has been doing everything right recently, and while they originally hit the market as a budget-focused cooling brand from Poland under the name Silentium PC, they've since rebranded and expanded to focus on a wider range of products and a global market. Pushing into a big market and trying to compete with the likes of ASUS, Corsair, Razer and many others is not an easy task, but as we've seen in their products they're doing a great job. I've recently reviewed their Arx 700 PC case, the Navis AIO cooler, and we have a very promising pile of products here to work through still, I can't wait to test them all out, as they look great. Their new gaming mice are fantastic, and I loved the ENDORFY GEM Plus Wireless I reviewed earlier this year, but I think it's fair to say that while I like the black design of the GEM Plus, the Onyx White has an even more premium look and feel to it, making it one of my favourite gaming mice in a long time. It's built for gaming, with its ultralight design, PTFE feet, premium Kailh switches, and PixArt sensor all putting it on firm footing against the best their rivals have to offer. However, I work longer hours than I game each day, and using this mouse for work is really what I will be doing the most. The ergonomics are very comfortable, and having a mouse that's comfortable in your hand, glides with ease and tracks beautifully certainly takes the strain out of those long hours in the office, making this a great mouse for me to use at home, where I spend days working and the nights gaming, it ticks all of the boxes. The build quality is excellent, again, the components used for switches and the sensor are top-tier, but also the overall body construction. It's lightweight without having to honeycomb the whole shell. However, despite that, it still feels as robust and durable as you would expect from a full-body mouse design. It may be lightweight, but it feels robust in the hand, and that's a hard balance to hit right. Should I Buy One? ENDORFY continue to impress with one great product after another, and while they may be a relatively new name in the market, and going up against some truly amazing rival products, the combination of great build quality, premium components, and flawless performance makes this just as good as anything else on the market, which I think is high praise given how competitive the gaming peripheral market is these days. However, I think ENDORFY scores a few extra points in both ergonomics and aesthetics, as this is one amazing-looking and feeling mouse!
