Endorfy Viro Plus USB Pro Gaming Headset Review

A Closer Look

While this headset is 3.5mm, meaning you can simply plug it into your computer, your own amplifier, soundcard, or whatever, it does actually come with its own external 7.1 USB soundcard too, which is great, as it makes it plug-and-play ready to get the best performance out of the headset.

The microphone is detachable, which is fine with me, as I so rarely use one, and there’s a little rubber bung included to plug the hole in the headset should you want to cover the empty port too.

I love my leather ear pads, and a good quality set comes pre-installed on the Viro Plus. However, the soft fabric ones are a lot more breathable and will give you a more open sound at the cost of reduced noise isolation, however, on a hot day, these are so much more comfortable to wear that leather!

The headset itself just oozed premium quality, with a metal inner headband, metal driver mounts, and a brushed metal earcup backplate that looks utterly fantastic. There’s the Endorfy logo printed on the back, but it still has the brushed metal texture running through it, which looks cool.

Despite the metalwork, the headset itself is pretty lightweight, coming in at 299 grams on my scales (without cables, no microphone and with the leather ear pads). It’s not ultralight, but honestly, for how durable and premium it feels in your hand, I think it’s striking an impressive balance between the materials used and the resulting weight.

The metal head band has a good amount of flex to it, and you can pull on the sides to extend or contract them to get a fit that suits you. The cable runs from one side of the headset and passes through the headband, and there’s a little exposed section between the headband and each ear cup, allowing for the length adjustment.

The ear pads look pretty standard size and shape, with the drivers themselves coming in at 53mm, you should be able to get aftermarket pads for these really easily. Not that I’d be in a rush to do so, as you get two great quality sets included with the headset, and they’re easy enough to swap over. Personally, I’ll be sticking with the leather ones though, they’re what I am used to.

The headband has a stitched leather finish too, and a good width and padding, ensuring it can distribute the weight more evenly. I like the Endorfy logo on the top too, much like the rest of the branding, its clear, but it’s not too outlandish and I like this more premium aesthetic.
