Enermax ELC 120 Liquid CPU Cooler Review

The installation procedure on the Enermax ELC 120 is very simple. You pick the correct mounting holes based on your socket and platform (all of which are clearly labelled in the manual), you then add the provided silver threaded screw fasteners and place this on the back of your motherboard. Once the backplate is correctly in place you then have to pick the correct mounting bracket for the pump. The choice is again Intel or AMD, the only downside of the mounting bracket installation is that unlike Asetek units there is no retention ring to hold it into place. This means it can easily become a tricky procedure trying to hold the backplate and mounting bracket in place whilst simultaneously trying to screw the mounting screws into the backplate. Overall though, thanks to the notches and locking mechanism on the pump, you do end up with a very strong and clean looking mount which gives good contact and 100% RAM compatibility.
