Enermax ELC 240 Liquid CPU Cooler Review

You can see that the radiator is actually 32mm thick, not 27mm thick like the majority of the ELC 240’s competition. You can also see Enermax have opted for the plastic “FEP” tubing as opposed to the more durable and flexible rubber tubing most people use these days.

As mentioned the included radiator is a 32mm-thick 240mm-long radiator. The construction and build quality looks pretty solid and the 120mm fans used are at a standard 15mm spacing.

The included fans feature triple speed switches of 1500 (yellow), 1800 (blue) and 2200 RPMs (orange). Apart from that they have a very simple all black design with a silver rim round the outside. It is also worth noting Enermax have braided all the cables with black sleeving – which is nice.

With the fans added to the radiator the width increases from 32mm to 57mm so make sure you have enough space in your case for it.

The included pump features an all copper base which comes with pre applied thermal paste.

The top of the pump features the Enermax logo but other than that it is quite plain – no LED’s or other lighting effects. The pump and fans are powered by a single 4 pin fan header which includes two female 4 pin fan header ports for plugging in two fans only. For a 240mm radiator the ability to have four fans is always nice because a lot of people do like doing Push-Pull. Unfortunately, Enermax don’t natively support this so to add extra fans you will need to “Y-splitter” the existing fan ports, plug the extra fans directly into the power supply or the motherboard (the additional screws required are not included either).

It is also worth noting the Enermax ELC 240 requires no additional power connectors compared to the H100i for example which needs an additional SATA power connector.
