Straight away we see that both the ETS-T40 coolers have great cooling performance, unsurprisingly the white edition with its better quality fan performed ever so slightly better, if only by a small margin.
The white and black editions both offered up near silent performance, with only a slight audible hum from our test rig. We are really liking the white edition though since it offered slightly better cooling performance with no noticeable increase in dBA.
Temps when overclocked were so close that they’re virtually identical on the black and white models, with both coolers performing about as well as the Antec Kuhler 650, which is a 120mm radiator all in one water cooler, very impressive.
Acoustic performance on both the white and black models was identical which is what we like to see, the white model favoured ever so slightly better than the black, but in the real world I doubt you’ll notice any difference between the two models other than being able to manually speed up the white models fan for extra cooling performance at the cost of more noise. However, our tests show that even on a heavily overclocked i5 performance and acoustics are stunning.
