Final Thoughts
Price
Both the ETS-T40 white and the ETS-T40 black can be picked up for around £35 – £40 most most online retailers, which is great value for money given their performance and overall design, making them very competitive compared to the similar cooling performance of the Antec Kuhler 650 which costs around £15 more and the Enermax offerings are about on par in terms of price and performance with the Raijintek Ereboss.
Conclusion
Enermax can hold their head up high today, I’m very happy with the overall performance of their latest coolers and you should be too. Sure there are many exciting options on the market today, from water coolers to huge tower cooler, there are even many coolers out there than offer better performance than the ETS-T40! But what really matters is that all important price vs performance ratio and Enermax are right on the money here. Both the white and the black models can be picked up for around the same price dependant on where you shop, and both offer competitive cooling performance, quiet operation and deliver in a big way in terms of visual design for this price range.
The white model is just that little bit better in terms of cooling performance, but the margin is so small that you wouldn’t really notice having bought the black model. The white does look better in terms of design in my opinion, but it really depends on how you want to match the design of the cooler to the rest of your build and of course the white edition comes with the added bonus of the switchable fan speed, so it is a little bit better value for money.
The only issues I have found are that the fan cable braiding does look a little rushed by not covering all the cable, and that the blue fan blades of the black model look a little cheap, but that last part really is just personal preference more than anything. Other than that there is really little else to say about these coolers, if you’re on the market for an affordable and stylish cooler that packs competitive performance for this price range, then you’ll be more than happy with what either of the ETS-T40 models we tested today have to offer.
Pros
- Great overall visual design
- Both models come with good quality fans
- Solid performance at both stock and overclocked speeds
- Quiet even when running on overclocked system
Cons
- Short cable braiding is a minor mark on otherwise spotless design
“Price is a big factor for any system build, as you’ll obviously want the best cooling and acoustic performance you can afford, and in some cases the best looking product that you can get for your money, the ETS-T40 from Enermax manages to balance all these factors perfectly.”
