Enermax Hoplite Mid-Tower Chassis Review

ExteriorThe front panel of the Hoplite consists of a series of plastic bezels with steel mesh panels in between to aid airflow through the case. The top of the case also contains a large area of steel mesh with space for two 120mm or 140mm fans underneath.

In the front of the case there is a small mesh covered door that swings out to reveal the Enermax Vegas fan within. This makes it very easy to remove but we can’t see why you would want to as it’s one of the most attractive fans on the market. Next to the door there is a speed controller from this fan and a button to change the LED lighting function.

Enermax are clearly taking airflow seriously with the Hoplite as they have punched out a series of vents in the side panel of the case with fan mounting points. You can either install two 120mm fans here or a single 200mm unit.

A generous selection of front panel connections are located on the top of the case at the front. These include two USB3.0 ports, an eSATA port and headphone and microphone jacks. The power and reset buttons are located just to the right of these.

Moving round to the rear of the case we find the usual 120mm exhaust fan which is populated by a standard Enermax fan model without the show-off lighting effects. There are seven expansion slots and two external watercooling holes located on the rear of the case as well.
