So lets start with the left side of the chassis, as you can see the side panel features a custom shaped acrylic window, which is pre-drilled to support two 80/90/120mm fans. It’s held in place with two quick release thumb screws and also features a fold out handle to assist with sliding the panel off the side of the chassis.
The top of the chassis comes fitted with another fan mount, this can hold either a 120 or 140mm fan, great for getting rid of extra heat should you be running an over clocked air-cooled system. Further towards the front we have a slide in dock for an external SATA hard drive and the main I/O panel.
The main I/O panel isn’t the best equipped we’ve seen in this price range, but it has everything you should need. With a pair of USB 2.0 ports, headset and microphone jacks, a single USB 3.0, a 3 speed fan control switch and the usual power and reset buttons.
The front panel really stands out on this chassis, in terms of design alone it looks fantastic with it’s high contrast of white with ridged black mesh. This mesh provides extra airflow into the chassis and is a cool as it is functional. The chassis also features 4 5.25″ drive covers which come fitted with quick release clips and a 120mm intake fan mount on the lower half, which we’ll take a closer look at in a moment.
The right side of the chassis features a simple white panel, which is held in place with a pair of thumb screws. There is nothing fancy here but it is solid and functional.
Around the back we have plenty going on, with a pair of water cooling / cable routing holes at the top right, a 120mm fan mount area with a 120mm pre-installed fan, 7 expansion slot covers with have large ventilation holes cut into them, two more water cooling / cable routing holes and a bottom mounted PSU cut-out.
The underside of the Hoplite ST features four large feet which are part of the main frame of the chassis, these provide excellent ground clearance and airflow to the underside of the chassis. This extra airflow is perfect for the removable air filter which supplies the PSU should you mount it with the fan facing downwards.
