Enermax Hoplite ST Mid-Tower PC Chassis Review

Now that we have the side panel removed we see just what the Hoplite ST really has to offer. There are 3 slim cable routing cut-outs on the back plate, each of these fitted with rubber grommets. We also find a decent size cut-out on the back plate for helping with CPU cooler installations. You’ll notice quite a few cables hanging around inside the chassis too, from the top of the chassis we have the cables for the SATA dock on the top panel as well as 5 fan connections for the 3 way fan speed controller on the I/O panel. In the bottom of the chassis we have the usual USB 3.0 header, USB 2.0 cables and the I/O connections.

The rear of the chassis comes pre-fitted with a 120mm Enermax fan, but it’s nothing fancy and doesn’t look to be anything special.

The front of the chassis comes with quick release mechanisms for the four 5.25″ drive bays, 6 slide out hard drive trays in a 3+3 layout. As you can see, the top dock can be easily removed to allow for longer graphics cards and better airflow from the front fan. The front mounted fan is the same as the 120mm in the rear of the chassis.

Around the back of the chassis we get a better look at the cable management options, although I’m a little concerned to see that they are fairly slim, things might get a little crowded when it comes to fitting our components.

One thing that won’t be an issue though is space, with 15mm of clearance behind the motherboard to hide away what excess cables you do have.

With the front panel removed you can see that the front grill is removable, this allows for better cleaning of the dust filter, although it’s not the most user friendly design in terms of access.
