Enermax Hoplite ST midtower case on the way
Ryan Martin / 12 years ago
Midtower cases make up the base of most systems these days. They have an optimal space-cost compromise to easily incorporate a couple of long graphics cards, a big CPU cooler, 5 or 6 hard drives and ATX/micro-ATX motherboards.
Enermax is the latest company to add a new case to the fiercely competitive midtower market. The Enermax Hoplite ST is a gamer orientated chassis with room for long graphics cards, although this is becoming less of an issue these days given a GTX 660Ti can be acquired at just under 8 inches. Should you need it you can remove three 3.5″ hard drive bays to give you up to 403mm of graphics card room or extra airflow.
Enermax show that they are listening to reviewers, consumers and enthusiasts alike by offering solid cable management with well thought out cable routing holes behind and around the motherboard tray. The addition of a clear side panel is a great feature to see on a €80 midtower case but the slightly abstract window shape and addition of fan mounts/vents won’t be to everyone’s taste.
Catering for the “white case market” is something Enermax have done with the Hoplite ST. Their white version sports an all white finish with white LED fans but unfortunately costs €10 more at €90 RRP. USB 2.0, USB 3.0, audio and hotswap for 3.5/2.5mm drives make up the connectivity options for the front.
The black ECA3261-B and the white ECA3261-W are now available for sale. MSRP incl. VAT: €79.90 for the ECA3261-B and €89.90 for the ECA3261-W.
The Enermax Hoplite series of cases have generally been very successful so we are very excited to see this new case come to market. Expect a review soon. More details and specifications available at the source.
