Enermax MaxRevo 1350W Fully Modular Power Supply Review

The specifications filled me with an odd mix of joy and dread- an enormous 1350W split across 6 rails makes this unit an absolute monster! This does however, mean hours of trying to balance the rails on my load tester to try and draw the full capacity of this unit but it was definitely worth it, when doing testing on a power supply like this, you get a certain kick out of obtaining these results! The 12V load is split across 6 rails to ensure that no rail carries in excess of 30A.
The unit comes with a massive selection of cables, which is no surprise given the wattage. The included cables will power quad SLI systems without the use of any adapters. The cables themselves use heavy 16AWG cables to reduce impedance which aids efficiency, they come with a good quality braid but the braid itself falls very short of the connector. The only surprising thing was that the unit did not come with enough connectors for duel CPU boards such as the eVGA SR-2 or upcoming SR-3. I would expect that those using an SR-2 would certainly consider both the 1350W and 1500W versions suitable for the platform, especially considering eVGA’s own SR-2 PSU is only 1200W. I think Enermax is missing out on a potential market here, and a lot of publicity considering the attention SR-2 builds get on forums.
