In this hot load test we take the PSU out of an ideal scenario and put it in a more realistic one, the PSU has to work in an ambient temperature of around 40oC which is much higher than the temperature of a case. This tests the quality of the unit- temperatures that high are very unforgiving!
We can see that temperature has a small effect on voltages but a slightly larger effect on efficiency. This may be due to the high power being pumped through the unit and not to forget that I am essentially pumping 1350W of heat (similar to an electric heater) back into the unit using the hotbox!
