Enermax Platimax 850W Semi Modular Power Supply Review
Ryan Martin / 11 years ago
The power supply unit features a nice silver grille and a 140mm Twister bearing fan.
The unit has all the electrical details on the bottom as well as the key part number which is EPM850EWT.
The side maintains an upright logo when bottom mounted. The finish is a textured grey/black powder coat with quite a grainy texture. It looks pretty good and is very finger print resistant.
When mounted “the other way round” the Platimax branding retains the correct orientation thanks to the fact they flipped it.
The rear has an on/off switch, hexagonal mesh venting, an input for a power chord of 3-pin “kettle” nature and the Enermax logo.
The other side has modular cable connections, the hard wired cables with details of which cables it includes as well as 12 volt rail demarcations for each modular connector.
Included are three modular SATA/Molex cables offering 10 SATA and two Molex.
Additionally there is a pair of Molex cables with 8 molex connectors and an FDD connector as well as a pair of PCIe connectors with four 6+2 pin connectors.
Hardwired is the motherboard 24 pin ATX, two 8 pin CPU connectors and two 6+2 pin PCIe connectors.
Here you can see that the sleeving is only partial with all the cables being exposed close to the connectors.
