Enermax has just revealed their new Revolution SFX range of power supplies, which as the name suggests come in the increasingly popular SFX form factor. Due to their smaller sizes, SFX power supply units are fantastic for compact workstations, mini gaming PC’s for LAN gaming, and living room based slim PCs to put under your TV. With the Revolution series offering up 550W and 650W models in their new range, they’re more than powerful enough to run a high-end CPU and one of today’s high-end graphics cards, making them a tempting option for any system builder.
All the units in the range come with fully modular and flat design cables, including two 6+2 pin PCIe, one 4+4 pin EPS, one 24-pin ATX, six SATA power, and four 4-pin Molex, with one Molex to Berg adapter. The units feature an 80mm fan with fanless operation under 60% load, which is very impressive and should make the system run pretty quiet for most load scenarios.
Each unit measures 125 mm x 100 mm x 63.5mm (LxDxH), which should provide you with excellent compatibility, and they even come bundled with an SFX to ATX PSU bracket adaptor, so you could fit them in a larger chassis should you feel the need.
The Enermax Revolution SFX Power Supply Series is due to go on sale on the 9th of December, but Enermax is yet to release pricing information. We don’t expect them to be particularly cheap, however, these are well equipped units and a compact form factor, which usually means paying a premium price.
