We are quite fond of the exterior design of the SpineRex as it is simple but attractive. Sure, it isn’t as sleek as designs we’ve seen from Lian Li but it certainly isn’t ugly. The front panel of the case contains no fewer than eleven 5.25″ drive bays which all feature mesh bezels.
The front panel connections are located in the roof of the case, just behind a small tray which you can use to store USB flash drives and other similar devices. From left to right we find a single USB3.0 port, a USB2.0 port, two 3.5mm audio connectors, two further USB2.0 ports and an eSATA port. The power button and rest button are located just in front of the tray on the front edge of the case.
In the roof of the case there is a large exhaust vent which isn’t populated by any fans. This features a sliding mechanism which lets you seal it off to prevent dust from entering the case if you don’t have fans installed.
The left side panel of the case features a massive 250mm fan which blows cool air over all your components. This is also speed controlled and features LED lighting which can be switched between red and blue.
Moving round to the back of the case there is an unpopulated 120mm fan vent alongside seven expansion slots, four external water cooling holes and a bottom mounted PSU slot. Unfortunately there isn’t a well placed hole for the USB3.0 front panel connector, though.
