Epic Games Demo Unreal Engine 4 With Photorealistic Character Sample

We all know that modern gaming engines, as well as modern graphics cards, are incredibly powerful, but it never hurts to show off just how powerful they can be from time to time. Epic Games has released a stunning demo that shows off Unreal Engine 4, not only can you see a video of it running, you can also download and run the sample, as well as check out the documentation on how to use the shader techniques.

To download and test it, you will have to open the Epic Games Launcher and download this project from their Learn tab. Once downloaded, you can hit “Play in Editor” and enjoy a cinematic video of the character sample.

Created using OTOY facial scanning, the demo is quite impressive. It uses the latest in skin, hair, and eye shading techniques to give a stunning photorealistic appearance. If you don’t want to download the demo, you can check it out in the video below.

Enjoy!
