While some people have an absolute loathing of the Epic Games Store (for reasons I’ve never entirely determined), it’s hard to deny that with it coming up for its fourth Birthday next week, the platform has done a remarkable job in very quickly representing itself as a truly viable storefront alternative to Steam. Of course, one of the most significant factors in this has undoubtedly been that the EGS has consistently been giving away free games since it made its debut. With Christmas coming up, therefore, people were clearly curious to see whether the Epic Games Store would offer us a repeat of its ‘advent calendar’ events seen in 2020 and 2021.
And following a report via Eurogamer, a reliable leak source has claimed that yes, the EGS will host another major Christmas gaming giveaway promotion with it likely set to kick off around December 15th.
For those of you unfamiliar with the promotion, the Epic Games Store has (somewhat traditionally now) held a ’12 days of Christmas’ event where a free game is offered each day in the run-up to, or shortly after, December 25th. – This proved incredibly popular last year with a number of major titles coming up for EGS account holders to own and keep forever.
While no information has appeared/leaked online yet in regards to what their Christmas 2022 event may have on the way, overall, for PC gamers it’s a fantastic way to snag a whole bunch of gaming goodness and particularly during a time of year when many often have a little chunk of time off work.
You can, of course, keep an eye on the Epic Games Store here. As soon as we hear any news in regards to what games might be landing during the advent event, however, we will, of course, let you know!
