Epic Games has announced a significant change to Fortnite’s battle pass system. Starting with the next season, items from expired battle passes will be available in the item shop. This move aims to alleviate the pressure on players who can’t complete or purchase a battle pass before the season ends.
Fortnite’s battle passes offer exclusive in-game rewards obtainable only during an individual season. Missing out on these rewards has been a common frustration among players. To address this, Epic Games revealed that items from future battle passes might appear in the item shop at least 18 months after the pass expires.
This change will let players purchase outfits featuring licensed crossovers, even if they missed a season’s battle pass. Epic Games emphasized that every type of item in a battle pass, including outfits, back blings, pickaxes, and more, could show up in the shop. However, there’s no guarantee that these items will appear after the 18-month window, so players should still aim to acquire desired items while the pass is available.
The adjustment will begin with the upcoming season, which ends on August 16th.
