EpicGear Defiant Keyboard
We’re here at the EpicGear booth at Computex 2017, and they’ve rocked up with last years keyboard?! Or at least, at first glance, you would be fooled into thinking just that. On the surface, the Defiant looks pretty much the same as last years model, completely bonkers.
The old model used light bars for the LED lighting, where the LED was on the internal PCB. Of course, this meant you had to pull out little plastic light bars on the switch and changed those for other colours to tweak the lighting. Of course, this was a fun way to do it, but it was also needlessly complicated.
Proper RGB Switches!
Yup, you guessed it, the old lightbar design is gone, and we now have proper RGB switches. This means you can now enjoy a more “traditional” RGB experience, and it’s a heck of a lot easier.
The keyboard uses the EG MMS Modular Matrix System. This means you can remove every switch using the included tool, not just the key caps. You can buy packs of switches from EpicGear or as part of a bundle with the keyboard. This means you can have linear, tactile, and tactile/audible switches where ever you want them on the keyboard. That’s pretty awesome if you’re into that level of customisation.
Remember the old version?
