Epomaker Magcore 87 Keyboard Comes Equipped with Inductive Switches

Epomaker is not the biggest keyboard name in the world, but they do have a reputation of quality with their previous efforts such as the TH80 Pro V2, and Galaxy 100. Their new keyboard was first introduced at CES 2025, and it’s got something I’ve never heard of before; inductive switches. With this latest innovation, the Epomaker Magcore 87 keyboard promises precise and adjustable actuation points, albeit this isn’t the first keyboard we’ve seen to offer such customisation.

Epomaker Magcore 87

From their official blurb, the Epomaker Magcore 87 further reinforces the brand’s core philosophy “From the community, For the community.” and if they promise “With user needs at its core, this keyboard delivers a “more precise, stable, and highly customizable typing and gaming experience.” and this keyboard doesn’t do just that, well then the community will quickly turn their back on it. However, I am hopeful.

Key Features

  • TKL Full Function Layout
  • Inductive Switches for Stable Performace
  • Gaming Keyboard with Adjustable Actuation
  • 8K Polling Rate in Type-C Wired Connection
  • Customizable RGB Backlights

Inductive switches

Inductive switches eliminate the need for physical contact to register keystrokes. At this point I’m thinking they’re just hall effect switches with some marketing, but I could be wrong. They say that this “contactless actuation ensures ultra-fast response times, and high precision, significantly extending the lifespan of the switches.” and I’m all for that, not that I’ve really had quality issues with traditional contact switches in the past, but it still sounds like a good thing.

With users being able to fine-tune the actuation point of each key to suit their personal preferences, you can get faster response times while typing and gaming, and in the world of competitive gaming, milliseconds matter more than ever.

What Epomaker Had to Say

“Designed to meet the demands of esports professionals and competitive gamers, the Epomaker Magcore 87 employs a wired connection, ensuring ultra-low latency and stable data transmission for instantaneous input recognition. Moreover, the keyboard supports N-Key Rollover, allowing users to press multiple keys simultaneously without conflicts or missed inputs. Whether executing complex in-game combos or performing rapid keystrokes in high-intensity scenarios, the Epomaker Magcore 87 guarantees precise and reliable input recognition.”

Price and Availability

The keyboard is available on their site for $199.99, and while there is space for three variants, two fo them are simply showing as “sold out” so I can’t even tell you what they are or were. However, it is available in black, with Kaih Box Inductive Switches, and you can pre-order one right here.
