eTeknix Insider Edition #26

So to the end of another great week with a lovely selection of reviews for you, and sure we may not have anything quite as special as the GTX 680 SOC Review from last week, but those sort of things are rare – even in this industry.

We will start this week with two PC chassis reviews for you, the unique Xclio Touch 767 and the very bold looking XPredator from Aerocool. Keeping with the unique theme we also have the Tt eSPORTS Chao Dracco and Razer Electra Headset review, with enough bright colours between them to send you dizzy. On the more serious hardware side of things, we have the Gigabyte GA-Z77-UP4 TH (Z77) Motherboard and for fans of NAS storage we have the N2800 2-Bay NAS from Thecus, all this is rounded off nicely with our weekly game review as we take a look at the ever popular Mass Effect 3.

Don’t forget the eTeknix team is heading out to GamesCon in a few days, where we will be bringing you all the coverage we can from the show, the latest games, the latest hardware and anything else we can find in between, stay tuned to our GamesCon 2012 page for updates throughout the week.

Xclio Touch 767 Full-Tower PC Chassis Review

Today were taking a look at the Touch 767 Full-Tower PC Chassis from Xclio, which is something a little different a lot of the other chassis we’ve reviewed recently, namely because of its innovative touch control panel that is built into the top of the chassis, which of course we’ll be taking a closer look at shortly, but first of all I know Xclio are not the most known name in the industry but as with any company in the PC customisation and self build scene, they have their loyal followers much as any other component manufacturer and with this chassis clearly aimed at the gaming / enthusiast market, I was keep to see what it had to offer.

Aerocool Xpredator Evil Black Edition Full-Tower Gaming Chassis Review

Today I am taking a look at the Xpredator Evil Black Edition Full-Tower gaming chassis from Aerocool, a chassis with a styling that looks deserving of its name, but as menacing as this chassis looks, does its performance match its extreme styling? Aerocool already have a good ten years under their belt when it comes do designing chassis, as well as cooling solutions, such as CPU coolers, fans and fan controller devices, aspects of all of these are well integrated in to their latest chassis the Xpredator too, so it will be interesting to see just how well they have been implemented into its design.

Gigabyte GA-Z77-UP4 TH (Z77) Motherboard Review

It’s been a few months now since the roll out of Z77, closely followed by the very successful Ivy Bridge platform. We know that to some its all a bit of hot air and since its got the hugely successful Sandy Bridge platform in its wake, its understandable why.

Thecus N2800 2-Bay NAS Review

In each of the market sectors, quantifying whether a NAS is required for individual needs is sometimes very clear and then the choice of which particular option is made from there. On the lower end of the market, the SOHO sector, there are a number of times where the end user will be wondering if a NAS is right for their particular needs or if it would be a beneficial purchase option.

Razer Electra Headset Review

Razer are one of the world’s leading brands when it comes to gaming, since they were founded in 1998 by their CEO Min-Liang Tan and their President Robert “Razerguy” Krakoff, from a humble tiny office they have managed to develop their brand into the sensation it is today, with hundred of employees worldwide and offices in nine cities.  This hasn’t been achieved by pure luck, but by developing some of the finest gaming peripherals and lending plenty of support to pro gaming from the ground up, with their own Team Razer, who are a group of elite gamers from around the world competiting in popular e-sport titles such as Counter-Strike, StarCraft 2, League of Legends, DotA2, World of Warcraft, Counter-Strike: Source and many more keeping the brand well rooted in the gaming community.

Mass Effect 3 PC Review

So this week I decided its finally time to put out my review for Mass Effect 3, but why so late you ask? Well with all the fuss that surrounded this game at its time of release, I decided to look the other way for a while and let things die down, not to mention muscle my way through my backlog of titles that I haven’t finished yet. I figured it wasn’t worth playing the third title of this grand trilogy until I can spare the time to do the game justice, not just because I wanted to review it, but because I wanted to enjoy it, so here goes.
