As we prepare for Computex 2016, the eTeknix team are in Taiwan for another special occasion, the 30th anniversary of InWin, being celebrated by a three-day long live modding event, with teams from around the world competing for some amazing prizes.
As you can see, we’ve got some of the best modders in the world here, paired up into teams to represent their country and go head-to-head with each other.
“Winning entries will be selected by a mixed criteria of 30% online voting, 40% professional judging, 20% by In Win partners and media and 10% on-site voting by Computex attendees. Three winner teams will be announced on the 3rd of June and will receive cash prizes and products from In Win and its partners. There is possibility that In Win will select the winning team’s modded case, and put into production as a special edition chassis.” – InWin
8am: The teams, InWin staff, as well as press from around the world arrived at the factory for the opening speach and tour, where InWin were eager to show off the competition area, products to be used, prizes and much more.
The modding teams getting ready to begin the competition.
InWin have really put in the effort to supply extensive sets of tools for the teams to use, although they were also allowed to bring many of their own as well.
Each team has several tables, one for the chassis, another for components, and a general work area.
The teams are working on the brand new and soon to be released InWin 509, which features another stunning tempered glass panel, but don’t worry we’ll have full coverage and a review of this as soon as possible.
Some very nice hardware provided by the event sponsors for each build; each team will have identical core componens to work with.
Each team will receive a huge prize bundle for competiting, giving them some very tasty hardware to take home. However, there are two cash prizes of $5000 for the winners, plus the InWin Choice award, which will net one team an extra $3000. There’s also a GTX 1080 up for grabs, a choice of InWin chassis and PSU, and the ultimate winner will also have a limited run of their modded chassis produced, meaning you will be able to buy one in the near future; if that’s not an awesome prize, I don’t know what is!
Get ready for more coverage, as the modding clock is going to start soon and we can’t wait to show you what the teams have planned.
