Eurocom has just announced its latest high performance Panther notebook. While it is barely classifiable as a notebook, and Eurocom does indeed call it a mobile workstation, the Panther packs a huge 6TB of storage. This is an impressive achievement for a mobile computing device. The Panther mobile workstation is old but can be newly configured with up to four 1.5TB HGST Travelstar 5K1500 2.5 inch hard drives. These can be configured in RAID 0/1/5/10.
“Eurocom understands that modern professionals are requiring larger and larger storage capacity, running heavy duty applications such as Autodesk and Solidworks, that is why we are now offering the 1.5 TB HGST Travelstar 5k1500 to our clients, on top of high performance” said Mark Bialic, Eurocom president.
Other key specifications of this beastly laptop include a 17.3 inch full HD display (1920 by 1080), an Intel Core i7 3970X (full X79/LGA 2011) or a Xeon E5-2600 series CPU. Eurocom also include up to a pair of graphics cards using a maximum of 100W TDP each. Up to 32GB of 1600MHz RAM is supported. Prices will vary by configuration but you can imagine with 6TB, a Core i7 3970X and a 17.3 inch full display with up tom 32GB of RAM and dual GPUs – this system isn’t going to be cheap. That said it isn’t meant for consumers but instead for businesses who can afford to make such large investments.
