Interest in the AMD Radeon RX 7900 series of graphics cards is undoubtedly high and particularly so since they (apparently) offer highly impressive levels of performance at a ‘much-lower-than-Nvidia‘ MSRP figure. – With this in mind, therefore, we dare say that a good few of you reading this are probably keen to try and snag yourself a 7900 XT or 7900 XTX on the December 13th release day.
Given that we have already heard rumours suggesting that the initial stock for Radeon 7900 GPUs might be fairly poor though, and possibly all the way until late January/February, despite what you might like, will you actually be able to grab one?
Well, following a report via Videocardz, alas, it seems that this might be a tricky task as sources are claiming that (excluding Germany) Europe, Asia, and Africa might all be sharing just 7,000 AMD Radeon RX 7900 reference models!
According to the source, in terms of AMD reference models, Europe (excluding Germany), Asia, and Africa are only being allocated 7,000 units. And that’s not each, that’s between all three regions! – Now, while you might be hoping that AIB models might potentially alleviate that problem and/or come to the rescue, it appears that only PowerColor, Sapphire, and maybe XFX will have their models ready meaning that, possibly for anything up to two months, actually getting hold of any kind of AMD 7900 XT or 7900 XTX might prove to be an incredibly difficult task.
Why not Germany though? Well, the source has said that this country has been allocated 3,000 units for release (a perfectly sensible number too). And in regards to the UK (who are clearly no longer in Europe), there is no word on what we’ll be getting albeit I’d likely expect/anticipate something similar to Germany.
Overall though, I think the overall ethos of this and other leaks over the last week is that if you want a Radeon 7900 series GPU, get in early or be prepared to have a bit of a wait on your hands.
