Spring is in the air, at least according to the calendar, and EVGA is celebrating this with a bonus backplate when purchasing an EVGA GeForce GTX 970 SC or SSC card. I don’t know how they made the connection from spring to backplate, but I’m certainly not going to argue with free stuff.
The two cards that come with a free backplate are the EVGA GeForce GTX 970 SSC ACX 2.0+ (04G-P4-3975-KR) and EVGA GeForce GTX 970 SC ACX 2.0 (04G-P4-2974-KR) graphics cards, and there are a few conditions to get the free backplate. The cards have to be purchased at EVGA’s online store or participating resellers: Micro Center, NewEgg, NCIX, Alternate, and Scan Computers. The offer is valid from the 17th april and ends on the 30th April 2015.
The backplates will automatically be added to your purchase, so there is no trouble with filling out forms in order to get it later. You have to install it to the card yourself, but that’s very easy and instructions will be included. A backplate doesn’t just act as a backbone to your graphics card by boosting rigidity and extra support for the PCB, it also aids in protecting critical components and helps to reduce the GPU temperature. Oh, and it also looks pretty sweet.
