EVGA’s latest liquid CPU coolers have finally arrived in the form of the EVGA CLC 120 and CLC 280 (Closed-loop-cooler), based on the latest generation Asetek AIO design. The entire unit is self-contained, requiring no filling or maintenance. What separates the CLC 120 and CLC280 from other all-in-one coolers is its unique Teflon nano bearing bundled fans and its fully controllable RGB LED that is able to be synced with EVGA GPU LEDs. The low profile CPU block itself is supposedly fairly quiet at only 20dB(A) max and uses 100% copper on the coldplate (with thermal compound pre-installed out of the box).
As you might have gathered from the name, the CLC 120 uses a 120mm radiator measuring 156 x 122 x 28mm bundled with a single 120mm fan while the CLC 280 uses a 280mm radiator measuring 312mm x 139 x 27mm bundled with a pair of 140mm fans. The radiator is made of aluminum which is common for mainstream all-in-one liquid coolers since it is a closed loop and as long as the coolant is formulated and untouched after placed in the loop, it will not cause a build up from the reaction with mixed metals such as the copper on the block. For this, EVGA provides a 5-year warranty for peace of mind and covers such an event.
The CLC 120 bundled PWM fan operates from 500-2400 RPM, capable of producing up to 4.04 mmAq (MAX) of static pressure while the 140mm fan bundled with the CLC 280 operates from 600 to 2200 RPM and capable of producing up to 4.20 mmAq (MAX) of static pressure.
In a future update, the EVGA CLC 120 and CLC 280 will be fully controllable via software. This includes setting the fanspeed curve, full control of the RGB lighting, advanced pump control, saving profiles and more. All settings are able to be saved onboard via firmware so the software itself is not mandatory for operation. Both the EVGA Closed Loop CPU Cooler 120 and 280 will come free with an AM4 bracket so that it may be installed on upcoming AMD Ryzen CPUs. It is compatible with all other current CPU socket models including Intel LGA2011/115x/1366 as well as AMD AM2/AM3/FM1/Fm2 and other variants.
The manufacturer suggested retail price for the EVGA CLC 120 starts at $89.99 while the EVGA CLC 280 will retail for $129.99.
