EVGA Finally Unleashes GTX 1080 Ti KINGPIN Video Card

It has been a long wait, but it is finally here. EVGA‘s GTX 1080 Ti KINGPIN Edition video card is now available. As the name suggests, the GTX 1080 Ti KINGPIN Edition is designed by EVGA resident overclocker Vince “K|NGP|N” Lucido and is designed for high performance. A prototype of the card was actually on display at Computex 2017, but it is now available for purchase at EVGA’s website.
KINGPIN Overclocking with iCX Technologies
The previous GTX 1080 K|NGP|N Edition let buyers select the ASIC of their card and the price was set accordingly. This time, EVGA ditches that idea entirely and offers a set $999 USD price tag. It features a custom PCB and hand-picked GPU that are guaranteed by EVGA to be high overclockers at least 2025 MHz+ Overclock.
Like most of EVGA’s high-end video cards lately, the GTX 1080 Ti KINGPIN Edition has iCX technology enhancements. This involves nine on-board sensors, protection fuses, and high-efficient 10+3 phase VRM. It also features EVbot support and auxiliary power via 90 degree connectors so it is easily accessible on a test bench.
Pure Copper Heatsink with ASync Fan Controls
The new GTX 1080 Ti K|NGP|N is a unique card so it also gets a unique cooler with a pure copper heatsink. There are three fans that actively cool this heatsink. They feature async fan control depending on the iCX thermal reports. This means if the one fan can move independent of the condition of the others. If the VRM is hot for example, only the fan directly above it will rotate at a higher RPM.
Although it comes with custom air cooling, the GTX 1080 Ti KINGPIN is single-slot ready with a water-block. It even comes with a single slot bracket in the accessories. All the display outputs are on the lower slot of the dual-slot design. It includes a DVI, HDMI and three mini-DPs. One mini-DP to DVI adapter is available in the accessory kit.
Pricing and Availability
Naturally, the card has limited availability and only allows users to buy two per household. It is for sale directly from EVGA for $999 USD and comes with some extra goodies such as a KINGPIN T-shirt.
