EVGA GTX 1080 SuperClocked Pictured

With everyone leaking and teasing their GeForce GTX 1080 cards, it’s only fair that EVGA gets some of that action. Courtesy of a leaker, we’re getting our first glimpse of what the EVGAGTX 1080 SuperClocked Edition might look like. It may also sport a new ACX 3.0 cooler to boot, though the GTX 1080 isn’t really that hot of a chip.
Just like the SC ACX 2.0 cards come before, the GTX 1080 SC features the same illuminated side logo. The card fits comfortably within two slots and features extra power connectors to improve overclocking. The 8pin + 6pin PCIe power connectors should alleviate the power limation the Founders Edition card faces when overclocked. EVGA has likely raised the power limit for the card as well to make use of the extra power connectors. The cooler itself is split into 2 heat sink arrays per the ACX 2.0.
Even with all of the extra goodies and likely better quality PCB and VRM, EVGA will likely price the card under the Founders Edition. As we’ve seen from other leaks, The Founders Edition really is overpriced compared to what you’re getting from custom AIB partner cards. For those of you planning to get the most value and won’t require a reference board, it would be wise to wait a bit and grab those instead.
