EVGA Introduces SuperNOVA G3 Power Supplies
Bohs Hansen / 8 years ago
EVGA had quite the success with their SuperNOVA G2 power supplies, but they haven’t just chilled around on that, they’ve reworked the whole thing and are now ready with the pretty impressive SuperNOVA G3 power supplies with improved performance, smaller physical size, and a new hydraulic dynamic bearing fan.
The new EVGA SuperNOVA G3 series is only 150mm long which will make it fit into pretty much any standard chassis without trouble. The series comes with 5 different wattage setups (550W, 650W, 750W, 850W, and 1000W) and they’re all 80Plus Gold certified for a 92% efficiency and also come with lower ripple.
EVGA SuperNOVA G3 are also fully modular, allowing you to use only the cables that you need. This results in a cleaner setup and less airflow restriction. Naturally they are compatible with both Nvidia SLI and AMD CrossFire setups and come with all sorts of protections, including OVP (Over Voltage Protection), UVP (Under Voltage Protection), OCP (Over Current Protection), OPP (Over Power Protection), SCP (Short Circuit Protection), and OTP (Over Temperature Protection).
The reworked fan which is full of the EVGA logo delivers a better performance and quieter operation, and it also comes with a longer lifespan. The EVGA ECO mode also provides the lowest noise levels possible during low to medium loads.
EVGA didn’t release any information about availability or price at this time, but they’re sure to turn up at your favourite EGVA reseller shortly.
