Vince “K|NGP|N” Lucido and EVGA have decided to work together once again in order to see if they could shatter some new 3DMark World Records. The graphics card that they settled on was the EVGA GeForce GTX 980 Ti K|NGP|N Edition, which was apparently overclocked to more than 2,200 MHz. Naturally, liquid nitrogen had to be used as a cooling solution, but since the card was designed with overclocking in mind from the ground up, everything was incredibly stable and the 3DMark testing sessions went very smoothly. At the end of the day, the two have managed to set three new 3DMark World Records using this beast of a card, which just goes to show how great EVGA products are for overclocking.
Apart from the overclocked graphics card, the team also used an EVGA X99 Micro2 Motherboard as well as an EVGA SuperNOVA Power Supply. As for the records themselves, they were obtained for 3DMark Fire Strike (Single Card), 3DMark Fire Strike Extreme (Single Card) and 3DMark Fire Strike Ultra (Single Card). When talking about the card‘s overall design, Vince said the following:
“K|NGP|N GTX 980 Ti once again represents EVGA’s dedication to the enthusiast inspired hardware, bullet proof engineering and bleeding edge performance.”
