EVGA Launches GeForce GTX 1080 HYBRID Graphics Card

EVGA has just launched a special GTX 1080 version that costs about $129.99 more when compared to the model’s baseline pricing. We’re talking about the GeForce GTX 1080 HYBRID graphics card, which costs US $729.99 – a price justified by a rather impressive closed-loop liquid cooling solution paired with a minor air-cooling system. The factory-overclocked GPU is kept cool by the liquid cooling system, while the base plate is taken care of by a 100 mm fan. As far as the PCB is concerned, sources indicate that it is identical to EVGA’s GTX 1080 Classified ACX 3.0, and the GPU even comes with the same factory-overclock as the Classified, which is 1721 MHz core, 1860 MHz GPU Boost, and 10 GHz (GDDR5X-effective) memory.
When it comes to power, we’re looking at two 8-pin PCIe power connectors, while display outputs include three DisplayPort 1.4 connectors, dual-link DVI and HDMI 2.0b. To sweeten the deal, EVGA is even throwing in $115 worth in-game credit in Paragon, which is Epic Games’ upcoming MOBA game. What we have here is basically a better-cooled version of EVGA’s 1080 Classified ACX 3.0 graphics card, and if you are a fan of water-based cooling solutions, then you might find that it is well worth its asking price.
