One of the surprising facets of the GTX 1060 launch by Nvidia was the fact that the reference Founders Edition would launch at the same time as custom cards. Not surprisingly many AIB partners have revealed their own offerings at the same time, EVGA included. Starting off the bat, EVGA has provided us with several different models which span the entire GTX 1060 performance gamut.
Starting with the fastest card we have the FTW edition with its blue highlights. Just like the GTX 1080 FTW, we can expect this card to feature the best power phases, quality components, and highest factory overclocks. We can also expect a controllable LED backlighting with the new ACX 3.0 cooler.
Coming in just below we have the SSC or super-super-clocked variant. We can expect lower factory overclocks but it should still be a great card and features the same 6+1 phases as the FTW. It should feature the same ACX 3.0 cooler as the FTW which means optimized swept fan blades, double ball bearings, and an extremely low power motor.
Lastly, we have the SuperClocked and regular editions of the GTX 1060 which are surprisingly mITX variants. These cards feature just a single fan with the ACX 2.0 cooler but that should be more than enough for the low power GTX 1060. They maintain the stock 3+1 power phases which isn’t surprising given the form factor. Hopefully, we’ll get more details and specifications soon.
