EVGA Supernova 750 G3 Gold Power Supply Review

Fan Speed
Designed to be ultra-quiet, EVGA has an improved fan design and by the results provided by the testing, seem keen to have this running as low as possible. In the standard operation test, we found exceptionally low fan speeds at low to mid load. Once past this point, the fan speed does increase quite significantly, but even then it still runs at less than 650rpm. This is impressively quiet and clearly shows some solid design choices and perhaps even is a testament to the components or the general passive heat dissipation this power supply has.
Hybrid Mode
The EVGA Supernova 750 G3 does have a hybrid mode for those users who are conscious of system noise. In this terms, the level of passive cooling this power supply has is clearly evident. During our testing we found that in hybrid mode the fan did not begin to operate under the power supply was at around 80% load. From this figure, it does immediately shoot up to about 500rpm, but that is still a remarkably low speed for 100% load performance.
