EVGA Supernova 750 G3 Gold Power Supply Review

Final Thoughts

Pricing

The EVGA Supernova 750 G3 power supply is currently priced at around £107. In terms of gold rate power supplies, this sits around the average price you will find give or take a £20 margin. For the massive levels of performance you get from this though, including a fantastic 10-year warranty from EVGA, you know you are not only getting a performer here but something that is clearly excellently designed and built to last. While some may wince at spending over £100 on a power supply, the EVGA Supernova 750 G3 would be the smart choice for PC owners with their eye on the long term.

Overview

I love everything about this power supply, from the packaging to the design and, of course, especially the performance. This seems to be every bit of the improvement on the G2 series EVGA promised this would be. As such, as a whole, I can find literally nothing to criticise about this power supply. I struggle to think of better praise than that.

Efficiency and Beyond

Despite this being a gold rated power supply, it oh so nearly tipped into platinum territory. With excellent results in terms of efficiency, it’s also hard to overlook just how well this performed in the overpower protection testing. It’s not uncommon for good quality 750w power supplies to be around 1000w in this test. The EVGA Supernova 750 G3, however, broke over 1100w before cutting out. That is exceptionally impressive.

In terms of noise levels as well, the fan results speak for themselves. It’s exceptionally doubtful in a fully running PC that you would be even able to notice this. When in hybrid mode, there’s a good reason for that. It’s because the fan probably isn’t running at all!

Should I Buy One?

Having reviewed a lot of power supplies, I have seen both good and bad. Additionally, anyone who regularly reads my reviews was at eTeknix will not that I am not one to over romanticise about a product or fall into the traps of hyperbole. Therefore, I hope you take what I say next with the assured certainty that I mean it.

The EVGA Supernova 750 G3 is an excellent power supply. If I was in need of one right now, I would probably buy this. With the excellent test results, fantastic design, gold rated efficiency, all Japanese capacitors and that fantastic 10-year warranty this is an absolute no-brainer and should be, at the very least, considered by anyone in the market for a new power supply.
