EVGA SuperNova 850 G5 Power Supply Review
Ripple
Having checked out the advertised features and specifications of the EVGA SuperNova G5 a ‘low-ripple’ score isn’t mentioned anywhere. A factor that is somewhat surprising when you take a look at our results. Not because it’s bad, but because they’re amazing good!
When you consider that EU standards allow these to go as high as 50, you’ll note that across all the ranges and loads this power supply received in our test, not once did the figure go into double digits. This is very impressive and shows that the power is being delivered very cleanly indeed!
Load (%) | 3.3V Ripple | 5V Ripple | 12V Ripple |
20 | 4.4 | 3.8 | 6.6 |
40 | 5.2 | 4 | 7.2 |
60 | 5.8 | 4.2 | 7.8 |
80 | 6.6 | 4.4 | 8.4 |
100 | 7.4 | 5.2 | 9.4 |

Funny, that I’m back here again, by accident, didn’t even remember making this other post two years ago, but wanting to say that Aris distinctly disagrees with your assessment that this is a good power supply. Yes, his review is the 750w model, but they are the exact same platform and OEM, so it’s very unlikely there are any significant differences. Perhaps you should revisit your assessment of this unit and revise as necessary.
