EVGA Teases New X99 FTW K Motherboard

EVGA

EVGA is one of the respected brands in the computer industry and upholds a superb level of customer service. The company offers a huge range of products including graphics cards, mice and motherboards. While their motherboard range isn’t as popular as other divisions, they are reliable and fairly well received. Saying that, there does need to be some improvements to the BIOS and software package to match their closest competitors. Intel’s upcoming architecture, codenamed Broadwell-E is based on the 2011-3 chipset and current models will support these processors with a BIOS update. Despite this, manufacturers are reading a new range of Broadwell-E motherboards sporting new features. Yesterday, EVGA’s product manager, Jacob Freeman teased an image of an upcoming motherboard entitled the X99 FTW K. Some time ago, the renowned overclocker KINGPIN released an image of this new motherboard on an official Facebook page.

From this image, it’s evidently clear that the motherboard adopts the E-ATX form factor and supports quad-SLI configurations. Not only that, there’s a dedicated audio path, loads of SATA connectivity and a very impressive X99 chipset heatsink. On another note, the neutral black styling creates an impressive visual look and I’m interested to see how the motherboard performs compared to existing X99 options. When it comes to Broadwell-E, we’re initially intending to benchmark the new motherboards using the 5960X as a baseline. So far, I’m really impressive with the X99 FTW K and it’s probably on its way to settings some new records in the capable hands of KINGPIN. As always, we will be reaching out to EVGA to acquire a review sample and provide a throrough analysis.
