EVGA X79 FTW X79 Motherboard Review

To test this board, we are able to run all of our tests at stock speeds using a pre-defined setup of hardware. We will also be overclocking the processor to 4.6GHz to see how the board compares against the stock speed. Also in terms of overclocking, we will be looking to see how far we can push the processor.

Normally for all of our testing on a socket 2011 board, we use an i7-3960X, however this is a C0 stepping chip and would not overclock in this board like it normally does in our other boards. This however will not affect the general public or anyone who purchases a retail chip as these will be C1 or C2 stepping and will overclock as per normal, hence us using our 3930k instead due to its C1 stepping.
