External graphics card docking bay for Macs to be developed

The company Village Instruments has made already 3 different External PCI-E docking bay devices, however the success of them has been reasonably limited because of the lack of bandwidth of current external connections such as USB 2.0/3.0. After a Facebook poll and consultation Village instruments is pressing ahead with developing an external PCI-E docking bay which will run off the Thunderbolt 10GB/s port thus providing enough bandwidth to successfully extract maximum performance out of the external device unlike the previous generation of docking bays which often bottlenecked the cards installed in them.

The card is powered separately by a power brick which will probably support devices up to 225W which gives you a significant range of cards to choose from. The device will probably come with a 5 year warranty like other similar products by village instruments. This could solve the problem of Macs and Macbooks not having enough graphical power which has often been a point holding back many buyers especially gaming enthusiasts.

The picture below is of the current generation of USB external docking bay.
